This section of my site showcases content from my foundation classes at the Academy. This content includes all of my traditional based artwork such as charcoal sketches, paintings, sculptures, etc. Each peice is listed under the class it was created in.

Anatomy of an Angel

This was a study of a Michelangelo's angel sketch forhis study of the last judgement. Everything you see here is drawn by me. I first had to understand the original before I could study it so I replicated his sketch and then drew the muscle overlay as well as the bone structure of the wings.

Head Study

This is a sculpture of a head from a live model. I would like to thank my instructor Mr.Haboush for allowing me to really push this one. I am currently working on digitizing him into the computer so that I can animate him in 3D. More on that later.

 

 

 

Final Chart

This chart shows the final collection of sculptures that I was graded on for my intro to modeling class MINUS the head study above. You may notice the Worm maquette that I managed to work in. I am currently working on a maquette for the larger worm (Wiggly) as well.

This is a portrait of my wife. I am also working on 3 other views as well (3/4, front, and "worms eye"). Now, as you may have noticed I have made quite a bit of progress since my last figure drawing update. This is due to my intructor Mr.Yan. He has helped me reach a level I thought never possible.

This is a chance for my dad to get a sneek peak at one of his christmas presents in the making.This piece was submitted for the final exam in my Analysis of Form class.

Well,this was a chance to get a taste of what to expect from my upcoming figure drawing class while in the Analysis of Form class. Now, I myself have already attended a figure drawing classalthough it was prior to the military so its safe to say that I was looking forward to the refresher. Wouldn't want to fall on my face at the Academy of all places.

 

 

 

Study of The Grace Cathedral

This is a sketch from a field trip we took to The Grace Cathedral. Just to give you an idea of what this place was like we wernt even allowed to cut our pencils inside. It was abosolutley breathtaking. I plan to make another visit since its just a couple of streets down from where I live right now.
