This section of my site is one of the ways I give back to the community. Here you will find tutorials, reference videos, scripts, and other utilities to help make your job easier. I plan to write some Maya tutorials as well as offer a rig in the near future so keep checking back. Also, be sure to check out my new forum where you can ask questions or help other people asking questions. |

Blender Tutuorial II Scanning 3D objects on the cheap! This tutorial was based off of a very old article that I came across for scanning objects into the computer without the use of a 3d scanner. Well, I resurected it in Blender using curves and splines. |
|
This is yet another texturing tutorial I wrote for the Blender community. The tecniques discussed here are also covered in my "Problem Solving In Blender" tutorial (see above). As a matter of fact it was this piece alone that sparked the tutorial for 3D World. |

An explanation of the process behind the script "Beast" (see below). This tutorial was written prior to the birth of Beast, however, I put this up because I thought it would be a good resource for everyone to thumb through in order to better understand how beast actually works. |

Animation Tutorial This guide is more of a tour than a tutorial. Whether your pushing pollygons, a pencil, or clay the basic principles of animation still apply. I by no means know everything about animation, however, I will share with all of you what little I have learned about stopmotion as well as the free stopmotion program Monkey Jam. |

LFmessenger allows user's to send messages from inside of Maya to anyone within the studio/lab on a standard windows network. The cool thing is that the recipient does not need to have Maya running or installed to recieve messages sent from LFmessenger. Click here for LFmessenger shelf icon. |

Beast is a 3d fur simulation program developed by a programmer from the Blender community (ezual) and myself to apply hair and fur to 3d objects. Beast is based off of a technique known as the "card method" adopted by many facilities such as Blue Sky. She's free and acts as a plugin (python) inside Blender. Brox in the CG section is a victim. |

Without these guys I wouldnt even have a website! They sponsor and host my site as well as a number of other artists at the Academy.Trust me no one even comes close to these guys. |
|
This is the portfolio of a buddy of mine from the Academy who ironically happened to serve in the AirForce. He is currently studying modeling but could work in the industry doing anything I kid you not. Very professional, talented, and dedicated artist. |
|
Sha-non. Good friend of mine from the Academy. Excellent modeller/texturer who moonlights as a ninja turtle ( inside joke). Check out his site...awesome stuff. Recently got picked up by Rythm & Hues. |
|
Buddy of mine from...guess where...the academy...also served in the military. Great guy, awesome site...even has reference videos of walks, jumps, and various ball bounces. |
|
I just met this guy through a friend of mine (Ken) in the labs over at the Academy...wow...nice guy and talented too! Check out his demo reel...nice stuff. He has attended a few of the PIXAR classes and it really shows. Great work Simon! |
My intro to Animaion instructor Mr.Hamm who got me started. He worked on the Smurfs, The Lord Of The Rings, and is currently cranking out a secrect project code named "Limbo" that is supposed to hit TV some time soon. |
Carolyn Ee (pronounced "eeeeeee") Another friend from the Academy...nothing special...HA! Kidding, this girl is a great animator. Right now shes working at Rhythm & Hues with the Shanster. |
Rig-a-licious! This guy is an animator by day and animator..uh..by day as well. Not sure what he does at night. Anyways, he made the Norman rig that is used in the PIXAR classes at the Academy. Right now he's working on Charlotte's Web over at Tippet. |
A good buddy and very talented traditional artist from the Academy. His work speaks for itself. As a side note, I have really been itching to work with this guy from the time we met at the bus stop, so, Dave if you are reading this you better be ready because one of these days I am going to be askin'. LOL! Everything is top notch but Ipersonally am a fan of his illustration work. |
Good friend of mine from [ guess where] the Acedemy. He has recently taken on the wonderful art of rigging so keep an eye on this guy. His site houses anything and everything creative ranging from 3d animations to poetry. |
