Ok, so after months of using different software at work. I'm back to Maya. I'm trying to clean up some existing models but running into a problem. I want to align vertices. I have two points and I want to align the middle on to be tangent.

I know there was a way to do it. Forgot if it was a script or a tool in Maya. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Darin

Hey Darin! Sorry it took me so long to answer. Basically you don't need a script because its built into Maya, heres how...

First go to the Move Tool options (double click it in the tool box) and set the Move axis to world (default). Next make sure Retain Component Spacing is disabled (unchecked) under the Move Snap Settings. Now go into the view port, select the vertices's you want to align, click on the move manipulator axis you want to align to (i.e. the Y axis), hold the V key and snap to the vertex you want to to align to. Sounds kind of confusing but once you try it in Maya a couple of times its not so bad. I might bust out a script to help make it a little easier, Anyways, let me know how it works out.

Lata,
Landis
