Giant Killer Robots!

I got an internship at Giant Killer Robots! I am very excited. I should start sometime this week. The people there are very nice. The facility has worked on movies such as The Matrix, Blade Trinity, What Dreams May Come, Fantastic 4, just to name a few. In other news I am signed up for a Mel Scripting class this summer which I am also very exctited about. It has already been announced that Python will be included within the release of Maya 8 and probably replace Mel all together, regardless, I am still going to take Mel. A scripting language of any syntax will be good for me to take. Last but not least the Spring Show was great. I got 2 additional awards of excellence which was a real honor. If you are in the bay area any time soon be sure to swing by the Acadmey building on 180 New Montgomery and check out the 3rd floor exhibit (thats where the 3d artwork from the show is held). Its completely open to the public.

Spring Show!

The award ceremony for the Academy Spring Show was a couple of days ago and I placed in all 3 categories that I submitted to! The WORM took 3rd place for short film, the WORM rig took 3rd place, and finally the WORM texturing submission took 1st! Everyones work was spectacular. It was a real honor to be a finalist with the rest of the artists. Check out my latest demo reel for some of the work from my spring show submissions as well as animation from my PIXAR class...

New Animation!

Just thought I would share with all of you my latest and greatest attempt at learning the wonderful (and extremly difficult) art of animation. First off my PIXAR class was awesome last night. The entire class is getting better and everyones shots are looking great. Mine involves a gag about a joke that I have had going for some time now about what happens to all of those demo reels once they get to the employer. The expectation is that it will be admired, the fear is that it wont even get watched! So, I finally decided to make a spoof out of this for class....here's the blocking so far...
