Plant Test Render!

Oh yeah! Its starting to get interesting now. Roger and I went out on a mini-safari yesterday, snatchin' up any resource we could get our hands on in the trails back behind my house here at the Presidio (I actually live in a National Park believe it or not). We gathered reference material for trees, plants, and even dirt. Below is a test render I whipped up based off of our findings yesterday.

Also, Shannon has been cranking out some crazy progress on "Ol' Red" so expect some updates on that very soon as well. As always, take care and thanks for checking in.

New Team Member!

Hey everyone! Been a while since the last update. There has been two new additions to the WORM project and thier names are Shannon and "Ol' Red". Shannon is a very skilled hard surface modeler from the Academy and will be building "Ol' Red" (your everyday rusty, old pick-up truck that lives in the back of many yards throughout America). Since Roger has his hands full with the environment itself, Shannon has jumped aboard to tackle the truck. The following image is a vector render of a low res truck I generated to act as a reference for Shannon.

Click here for Vector Render of Low Poly Reference Truck.

The next image is a screen shot of Shannon's progress after reviewing the render along with the scene file. I must say it's pretty exciting...the 3 of us have actually developed a pretty decent pipeline. Here you can see Shannon has started laying down the ground work (chasis, wheel assembly, etc.) based off of the concept discussed above.

Click here for a Render of Shannon's Progress on "Ol' Red".

You also may have noticed the cool new tire swing in the first render which does not appear in the second. This is because the tire used for the swing will come from the truck as well (which explains why the left back wheel of the truck is up on a cement block). Well, thats about it for now. Last but not least, Shannon should have his website up by the end of this week so expect a link to be floating around in future posts. More to come soon!
