Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! My wife and I have both been very busy with the WORM lately. Yesterday we went out and took loads of reference photos for the backgrounds. At the end of the day we went over to the sony style store and picked up a new battery for our DV cam so we could shoot some live footage today in the woods next to our house. Last night I was up till about 5 in the morning rigging Inch (the main character). Man there is a lot to rigging. I have to admit though that it is the only task associated with 3D that I don't thoroughly enjoy. I love to model, texture, and ofcourse animate...but rigging is a little too technical for me. I have been biting the bullet and teaching myself everything there is to know about it although it just isn't as satisfying as the other aspects of the pipeline. I know I will enjoy the fruits of all my labor in the end when his controls are neatly laid out like the cockpit of the F-16 but until then its grumpy pants (me whining like an old man).

Jonh and his dog!

Hey everyone! Lately I have come across a new site that is a must for animators (especially those using maya). The site is called:

http://jonhandhisdog.com/

(yes "Jonh" is spelled correctly) and is ran by Jason Schliefer (animator of Gollum from Lord of the Rings). Sections of note are ofcourse his blog and the downloads section where you can pick up a copy of his simple yet powerful "joint orient" script.

New Animations Coming!

Hey everyone! Last nite I digitized a couple of my stopmotion animations so al I have to do is compress them and upload them up to the site. Also, I just finished a nice little assignment using food for my experimental animation class. I should have the 3 of them here in the next couple of days so as always keep checking in. Oh, I almost forgot...a friend of mine (Rich) is working on integrating a "loading" message for the video windows....I think some of my visitors assume the larger animations are not coming up when in fact they are just taking a while to download. Anyways, Thanks Rich! Last but not least my buddy Roger just picked up a new G5! Congrats buddy!

Animations for Smerity!

Hey Smerity! I just finished uploading 4 stopmotion animations to the animation section! I am also working on a tutorial (more of a guide really) to Stop Motion and Monkey Jam that should be ready to go soon. Also, I have some more animation but I have to extract (digitize) it from vhs tape some time this week in the labs so as always keep checkin' in.
