Animation Show!

My wife and I attended the animation show last nite and it was great. We were both in need of a break....her from supportng the two of us and I from finals. So, we drove about an hour to a small theatre in San Jose that was showing a collection of shorts that toalled about an hour all for one ticket. It was really nice. Plymptons work was great and opened the nite. I also liked Don Hertzfelt's pice as well but I would have to say that the most original pice was about a guy that had a radio for a head and couldnt muster up the strength to put in the right tape when the girl he liked was around. She also had a radio for a head. Anyways I wont ruine it for you but it was really nice. Well thats about all I got. I am crunching away at finals as well as on an instructional piece for the animation department regarding the scanning in of traditional sculptures for resurfacing and animation. Alot on my plate but I am getting there. The worms rig is coming along great but more on that soon.

Yeah it was a great show. Don's piece definitely left thinking. Really want to see it again to get more out of it. Loads of great stuff. Ward 13 was especially crazy with some of the most amazing stop mo fight scenes I have ever seen.

Man I totally agree! That ward 13 was impressive...I realise alot of the people in the theatre were not animators but being someone who has done stop motion I REALLY respected the work that went into that fight scene as soon as it started rolling! Plymptons probably had me laughing the most but Don's definately made you go "hmmmmmm".
