My First 3D Take!
Just finished my first 3D take (surprised expression) but just so you know there is still a couple of things I want to do to it in order to really "sell" it. The good news is that I am starting to get comfortable with the tangents in the graph editor as well as blocking via the dope sheet. I cant wait until I actually start taking 3D animation classes! Anyways, you can check out what I have so far in the animations section. All I can say is that this character is going to be wearing a full-body cast this semester if I keep beating the hell out of him like I do! LOL!

Nice work =) I like it generally, seems natural enough, to most degrees.
My only crit is the actual take. I think the actual take is a little too complex for my eyes to handle at framerate. My suggestion would be to clear it up, so it has a clear curve of movement (action curve is it called?) In three frames your character goes from left to right, and back to left, making it hard and confusing for the eye to follow. It's the same general idea as the silhoutte form, if you can see the action in just the silhoutte, then it is quite well done. Give it a try with just shadeless black, and see if you can make it out.
However, it does remind me of a scene from Monsters Inc, where Mike's about to take his girl out for a date, turns around and see Roz, and he does a very extreme exaggerated jump. Check it out frame by frame, very well done stuff =)
But apart from that, great progress for just 5 days from a working walk-cycle, can't wait until you actually get into lessons! =P
Smerity,
Absolutley! I have cleaned up the timing of the take itself in order to show off some of the stunts and I added some extra eye candy as well. Also, the overall movement is much more fluid (natural)...the body, arms, legs, etc are all moving on arcs. Though it is still a work in progress (needs quite a bit more housekeeping) it is ALOT better than before. I should have it uploaded by the end of this week...or this weekend at a bare minimum (classes started yesterday so its a little crazy right now). Anyways, as always, thanks for the feedback!
